How do I override a Direct Deposit Prenote?
If you want the direct deposit to go "LIVE" immediately,
set the prenote date back 30 days from today.
How do you create a 2nd check?
On the Pay Detail screen, click on the picture of the
check with a *.
How do I void a check?
Make sure you have received your last payroll file and
your Batch Control Tab shows your next unprocessed Check Date.
Choose the employee whose check you wish to void, click on the
PRIOR CHECKS tab, and highlight the check you wish to void.
Choose VOID CHECK.
How do I block a deduction from coming out of a check for
this pay period only?
From the Pay Detail tab, first pay your employee, then
click on the properties box, find the deduction that you want
to block, put a check mark in the box, and then choose SAVE
CHANGES
THIS PAYCHECK ONLY. Then click on the Details
box to double check.
If I am a trust account, how can I order a stop payment to
be placed on a check?
If a paycheck is lost or stolen, a stop payment should
be placed on the check. Contact your CSR with the following
information: Employee name, Employee ID number, check number,
check date, and check amount. CPS will verify that the check
has not been paid, and if so a stop payment will be placed on
the check. The stop payment will take effect 24 hours after
the stop has been placed. The check will need to be voided and
reissued through Millennium.
What is the Social Security rate and wage limit?
For 2006, the rate is 6.2%, and the maximum wages that
it will be deducted from is $94,200.00, and the maximum social
security paid in 2006 is $5,840.40.
For 2007, the rate is 6.2%, and the maximum wages that it
will be deducted from is $97,500.00, and the maximum social security
paid in 2007 is $6,045.00.
For 2008, the rate is 6.2%, and the maximum wages that it will
be deducted from is $102,000.00, and the maximum social security paid
in 2008 is $6,324.00.
What is the Medicare rate and wage limit?
The current rate is 1.45%, and there is no maximum
wage limit.
What are the tax benefits of a 401K or a Section 125 Deduction?
401K contributions are exempt from Federal and State
income tax (there are a few state exceptions, where 401k is
not exempt). Deductions for Section plans are exempt from Social
Security, Medicare, Federal and State income taxes (with some
exceptions).
What is the difference between blocking taxes, and being exempt
from taxes?
An employee who writes EXEMPT on line 7 of the W-4,
is interested in BLOCKING their taxes. To BLOCK tax in Millennium,
go to the employees taxes tab, put a check mark in the
box in the column labeled OV TAX. The employee will be responsible
for paying any tax that may be due at the end of the year. Keep
a copy of the employees W-4 for proof of status.
An example of an EXEMPT employee would a foreigner working
in the US on a VISA. Please call your CPS representative for
setup instructions for an EXEMPT employee.
